Notes and Trivia[]

  • The segments shave and wave both rhyme.
  • Gawain's Word also has a segment featuring the word "jump".
  • The football players make their sound three times, much like 2 knights in Gawain's Word.
  • Violin and flute are the only instruments in the segment to appear in the "dine" and "flute" segments, respectively.
  • Row is the only segment to have the word removed when the football players are rowing a boat.
  • Unlike most Between the Lions segments, which mostly consist of original music, this segment uses an APM Music track titled "Heavy Action", which is composed by Johnny Pearson.
  • The segment was slightly altered for the last two seasons of the show, one difference being the lack of a starting transition (with one exception being the segment March appearing in The Ants and the Grasshopper), and the HD widescreen format being used, resulting in borders that look like a football field.
  • The Wave segment has a different opening transition, likely due to being the one of the first produced. Instead of the screen zooming in from the right and flipping as usual, the screen "twirls" and flips, and the animation is faster.
  • This segment is the parody of NFL.
  • In the game, the African-American football player wears a blue jersey for the beginning sounds and the Hispanic football player wears a red jersey for the ending sounds.
